Kinsey Judge is a Class of 2029 student-athlete at Venice High School competing in both indoor and beach volleyball.
She made varsity indoor volleyball as a freshman and continued as a sophomore. On the beach, Kinsey and her partner went 17–2, competed as Venice’s No. 2 pair as freshmen, helped Venice win Regionals and earned a trip to States.
Her accomplishments include being named the Herald-Tribune 2026 Beach Volleyball Player of the Year, an Elite Volleyball Player to Watch, a 16U AA-rated beach player, and a club volleyball team captain.
But at GrindHouse, we wanted to know more than what shows up on a stat sheet.
We wanted to know Kinsey.
BEHIND THE JERSEY
Take volleyball away and there’s another side to Kinsey.
She enjoys clay shooting, reading, building LEGOs and going to concerts. She also gives back to her community, including volunteering at Teen Courts and through Faith Café around Thanksgiving to help serve people experiencing homelessness.
And underneath all of that is a mindset that says a lot about who she is:
“I’m always trying to be better.” For Kinsey, getting better isn’t just about volleyball. It’s how she approaches life.
THE GRIND
Everybody sees game day. GrindHouse looks for what happens before it. For Kinsey, that means giving 100% effort in the classroom, at practice, during games and in workouts. Sports have taught her discipline — showing up when she’s tired, putting in work when nobody is watching and understanding that she can’t control everything around her. But she can always control how hard she works.
THE DREAM
Kinsey knows where she wants this journey to take her:
College beach volleyball. And she doesn’t just want to get recruited. She wants to PLAY. With graduation still ahead in 2029, she’s continuing to train, compete and find new ways to challenge herself — including a goal of competing in her first HYROX.
WHO’S IN HER HOUSE?
For Kinsey, it starts with her parents. She recognizes the sacrifices they make so she can travel, train, attend camps, compete in tournaments and continue chasing the sports she loves. Because nobody builds their House alone. Family. Coaches. Teammates. The people who show up throughout the grind.
