Cooper Johnson - Venice High School Track and Field
Class of 2028 | Venice, Florida
Cooper “Coop” Johnson is one of the most exciting young track athletes at Venice High School, continuing to build national attention as a sprinter and jumper.
Now competing as a sophomore, Coop has already built an impressive resume early in his high school career. Specializing in the 100m, 200m, long jump, and relays, he has established himself as one of the top young athletes to watch.
His accomplishments include:
• 3x City Meet Record Holder
• School Record Holder
• Freshman Record Holder
• 2x National Qualifier
• Top 15 Freshman in the United States (2025)
• Nationally Ranked Indoor – 200m & Long Jump
Some of his standout performances include:
• 22.09 – 200m
• 11.15 – 100m
• 6.34m – Long Jump
But Coop’s story is bigger than the numbers.
While competing at a high level, he has battled lupus, a chronic illness that affects joints, muscles, and organs. Despite injuries and setbacks associated with the condition, Coop continues to show resilience, discipline, and an elite work ethic.
His commitment to improvement shows in his routine:
• High school practice Monday–Friday
• Private speed and performance training 3–4 times per week
• Additional training every Saturday
• Gym sessions 3–5 times per week
Off the track, Coop has also excelled academically. He attended Gifted and Talented programs from 2nd through 6th grade and continues to maintain Honor Roll status while balancing the demands of high-level athletics.
At GrindHouse Media, Coop represents exactly what the platform stands for — athletes who overcome adversity, outwork the competition, and keep showing up.
